Spinach is so incredibly good for you, it is no wonder we have our romantic menu filled with spinach items. Spinach carries a great deal of needed nutrients to give you that "Popeye" edge when the mood takes you into the bedroom after dinner. Hey - you're gunna need it! This recipe is basic but not many people serve spinach this way....and it is the way it should always be served!
Ingredients:
- 3 Bundles of fresh spinach (it looks like a lot, but just wait until it boils down)
- 2 Teaspoons Lemon Juice
- 2 Tablespoons of butter
Directions:
- Pluck the leaves and only a small portion of the stems from the main bundle and wash all of the leaves very very well.
- Put the leaves in a large pot and cover with enough water.
- Boil the water for 15 minutes.
- Drain well in a colander. Use a potato masher to drain well.
- Mix the spinach in a mixing bowl with the butter and lemon juice and serve immediately.
Recommendations:
As the main dish, we recommend the pot roast beef accomapnied with the Yorkshire Pudding.
As the starter, we recommend the stuffed mushrooms.
As a dessert, we recommend the lemon crunch.
